Osprey Heatshrink Tube Processing Machine

(Heat Gun not included)

Haloblaze bring you the latest development in heat shrink tube processing technology.  The Osprey device (Registered Design Protected) has been developed in-house using state of the art CAD 3-D modelling and flow simulation software.

Osprey brings together the traditional heat gun method of processing heat shrink tubing with Osprey, engineered airflow for 360 degree shrinking and safer heat gun mounting.  Combining the Osprey processing device with a Steinel Heat gun now results in a consistent shrink result every time without the need to turn the wire during operation.

** REMEMBER TO ADD A HEAT GUN TO THE BASKET (IF REQUIRED) **

Osprey Heatshrink Tube Processing Machine

Haloblaze bring you the latest development in heat shrink tube processing technology. The Osprey device (Registered Design Protected) has been developed in-house using state of the art CAD 3-D modelling and flow simulation software. Osprey brings together the traditional heat gun method of processing heat shrink tubing with Osprey, engineered airflow for 360 degree shrinking and safer heat gun mounting. Combining the Osprey processing device with a Steinel Heat gun now results in a faster, more consistent shrink result every time without the need to turn the wire during operation. Processing more difficult materials such as PFTE tubing is now much faster and easier than ever before. The ergonomically designed support stand holds the head and heat gun securely for improved safety. Osprey main aluminium processing head is machined using 5-Axis CNC with a bead blasted/anodised finish. The support stand comes as standard with brushed stainless steel body and bead blasted/anodised side panels. Osprey has been designed for use with Steinel heat guns only. We recommended use with Steinel 2320E but is compatible with all other 34mm outlet diameter Steinel pistol type guns.  Set up is easy simply insert the gun outlet into the opening nozzle of the Osprey head, tighten the two locking screws provided, sit into the support stand using the hardened steel shoulder bolts and you are ready to start processing.

We were fortunate to be one of the first companies to receive the Osprey device pre-launch for test purposes. Our initial trials showed significant improvements in shrink quality and speed when compared with using a Steinel heat gun with basic nozzle configuration. Our health and safety department were especially impressed with the holding stand as we had already experienced H&S issues with heat guns placed openly on top of work benches, so it was great to have a solution to this. We will definitely be purchasing more units in due course.

The design of the Osprey Heat shrink Tube Processing Machine is quite remarkable. We process 1000’s of cables with heat shrink cable identification markers and have found the speed at which the machine shrinks the markers and the consistency of the shrink is superb. We have also noticed the quality of the print on the markers has improved dramatically which is something we did not expect.

When we were carrying out the same operation without the Osprey attachment we had the heat gun set to a very high setting to try and shrink the markers as fast as possible. This did on occasion cause discoloration of the markers and melting of the cable ferrules resulting in wasted time and materials. We use the Steinel Electronically controlled HG 2320 E hot air tool and after a little bit of trial and error we are now able to process faster at a much lower temperature which again is paying dividends.

The design of the stand is great holding the heat gun in a sturdy position at just the right working height.

At first I was a little alarmed at the price but have now found this purchase to have been a sound investment after completion of a large contract in record time. I do feel it has paid for itself and will now continue to add value over and over.
